Welcome to Qiskit Fall Fest: IITR 2026


We're excited to have you here. This event is organized by the Quantum Computing Group (QCG) and Students' Technical Council (STC), IIT Roorkee.


The Qiskit Fall Fest is a collection of quantum computing events created and planned by university students and volunteer hosts, with support from IBM Quantum.


Here at IIT Roorkee, we present a comprehensive series of quantum computing events running from September 30 through October 5, 2026, designed to familiarise beginners with the fascinating world of QC. The series culminates in our main event, the "Dead & Alive 5.0" Hackathon, beginning October 3. This is your chance to explore the vast and intriguing world of Quantum Computing through innovative projects and challenges.

Hackathon Details and Rules

  1. The “Dead & Alive 5.0” Hackathon will take place on October 3, 2026.
    1. General Prompt
      • Open to all students of IIT Roorkee.
      • Team formation is allowed, but each participant must register individually.
      • Team registration will open during the opening ceremony. The closing time is TBD.
      • Submissions must be made through the submission form before the deadline. Submission form and deadline: TBD.
      • Teams must submit a presentation with their solution. Presentations will be held on October 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM.
    2. Freshers Prompt
      • Open to all 1st-year UG/PG students of IIT Roorkee.
      • This is an individual prompt. Team formation is not permitted.
      • Submissions must be made through the submission form before the deadline. Submission form and deadline: TBD.
  2. Problem statements will be released in the Prompts section after the opening ceremony. Release time: TBD.
  3. If eligible, participants may take part in both the General and Freshers Prompts.

Tracks & Tasks

Freshers Track (1st Years Only)

Task: Solve engaging quantum challenges and guided tasks directly in the provided notebook. No prior quantum experience is needed.
